crosabi 24 Posted November 27, 2013 I've never measured myself but today at work it was brought to my attention that I should. Has any one done it? What did you measure? How often?
McButterpants 2,846 Posted November 27, 2013 I took measurements before surgery...It's nice to see the inches melt away, especially if you're at a stall on the scale. I measured my neck, bicep, bust, chest, waist, hips, thigh and calf.
crosabi 24 Posted November 27, 2013 That's where I am. I'm not loosing as much but I know I am because pants that once didn't fit now do. But I will be buying a tape measure tomorrow. Thanx.
LindaS 316 Posted November 27, 2013 It has nothing to do with conceit. Sometimes when the scale isn't moving, you can still have changes in your measurements. It's another way to keep track of what is going on with your weight loss, and it can keep you from being discouraged when the scale is being a jerk.
ReDbEaN 654 Posted November 27, 2013 YES, measure. I wish I would have before surgery. I measure probably once a week and I love when I have to change my "stats" - even when the scale doesn't move
twood66 0 Posted December 1, 2013 Definitely measure. I started the day I started my liquid preop diet. I now measure every month on the 12th. It is so encouraging to see those numbers shrink especially when you've been so large for so long you don't really see the difference in the mirror yet. southernsoul 773 Posted December 12, 2013 My doc took measurements preop & I did it once postop, around 3 months out. I decided to measure about every 3 months & now I'm coming up on 6 months out. I guess it's time to measure again!
