I had The sale problem with my insurance, I had my done in the Dominican Republic, the dr went there from fl to it. I has a conversion from the band to the sleeve so it cost me around 15000.00

It was a lot but so worth it. GOOD LUCK

Good suggestion about the local hospitals here! I hadn't thought of that! I just emailed a friend who is a RN, and she's going to check out some thing for me. I'm really nervous about leaving the country for the procedure. Plus my regular doctor would give me a lot of grief about it.

FYI when you self pay for the surgery there is no supervised diet requirement. You just select your date and go from there.

I had same ins but it covered wls. After deductibles and out of pocket maximums it ended up costing me 5k+ so maybe mx isn't such a bad idea
