Clinton6 16 Posted November 26, 2013 I'm in the process of approval for VSG. I've had Nut & Physc eval. I have my endoscopy on Wed then it's off to the ins for approval!! I'm just curious I've been alllll over this site and haven't seen where anyone has had to start a diet while still in the process.... I've seen ins mandatory diets. But nothing like mine. My Nut put me on an 1100 cals a day diet until 2weeks pre op then it's the standard 10 day liquid. Is anyone else doing this? Thanks

Although my insurance requires a 3 month diet, the Nutritionist has put me on a 1200 cal diet. Multiple Protein Shakes during the day and a prepared meal at night, like weight watchers etc. They apparently think its better for your body to be in weight loss mode prior to the surgery. Its supposed to be safer and the liver has time to shrink. Plus I personally think they want to see just how well you can stick to a diet.

Mine is closer to Atkins but with a Protein Shake for Breakfast.
