Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

Recommended Posts

Hey Bubble, I gotta tell you that I really enjoy your posts. I feel like you and I share many of the same viewpoints. Maybe not 100%, but that's what makes it so interesting. When I see it's you who has posted, I always take the time to read it, as well as TOMs, TommyO's, Green's, laurend's, lethea gs, geezersue's, and others... even Ron's. His language can be so colorful, in a condesending way. :help: :embarassed:

I guess it must be because we were both born Roman Catholic and have the RC chromosome.

The coalition of great thinkers: Catholics, Atheists, and homosexuals. Talk about your unlikely bed-fellows!!!!

Hey Carlene...

Up until about a month ago I moderated a Catholic forum! I may not agree with them but I have a certain amount of respect for them and nobody messed with my Catholics! Seriously, it was their forum. Challenging them is one thing, slam dunking them for being Catholic meant this atheist chewed 'em up like a chew toy and spit them out when their squeaker was gone.

There are certain advantages to being a fundie turned atheist. LOL

Carlene: That IS funny! One night 4 couples of us went to a Gentlemen's Club in Orlando because all but one of us women had never been to one. The blond I told you about, got her husband to buy me a lap dance. I had no idea what was happening. I didn't know what a lap dance was. I'm sure they all got a huge kick out of the look on my face. It's funny though, the young girl and I started talking and she must have spent 15 minutes telling us all about herself. I think the guys just like to objectify the girls in their minds, not get to know them. I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of how your daughter felt.

I feel the same way about many other "groups", including Jews, LDS, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Atheists. The only Christians I lack respect for are the ones who proclaim loud and long that no one else is going to heaven. I have no problem with their beliefs....only with their actions.

No, that's not accurate. I stated that wrong. I was a firm God fearing Christian that read the bible and I could no longer accept Christianity as truth. I read the bible, studied the history and for ME it was quite impossible. I finally recognized the fact that no matter how hard I tried to play mind games with myself I just wasn't a Christian, I couldn't believe. I tried and tried, but I knew too much. I knew how Christianity came to be and I understood how it grew.

I didn't "decide" one day to be an atheist, I came to understand and accept it. Big difference from what I wrote in the previous post.

Aaahhh - fundamentalist - muchas gracias... ooops, sorry I forgot to whom I was speaking. I mean, thank you!! (I don't actually speak Spanish, it's just something we do here in Tejas) (not that there's anything wrong with that...)

Yeah, I occasionally read the blog of a stripper that posts at some of the communities that I frequent. It's amazing some of the crap the "customers" put her through. A large percentage apparently think that her being a stripper gives them the right to request anything from her or do anything to her.

Tejas.. I like that a great deal!!!

Does that mean like AZ you don't know if you are part of the US or Mexico?

Yeah, like a $10 tip entitles you to a free ride - if you'll pardon the expression.

Oooops. I think it's getting late. The next thing I know I'll be getting myself into real trouble. I better sign off.

Bubble- most people do think that TEJAS refers to the Mexican influence, but we toured something or other in San Antonio and they told us that using the word Tejas didn't originate from Mexican influence.

Carlene could probably enlighten us further. I'm not a real Texan. Only married one and hopefully that stuff doesn't rub off on me with any regularlity. I'm from Oklahoma and proud of it. Although I try not to proclaim that aloud around here. There is some cowboy discrimination here against us redskins. And many of those ya-hoos pack pistols!

Bubble: I've also lived in Arizona. Where I lived was influenced much more by the wild west and Geronimo than by Mexico. We lived in Sierra Vista for 5.5 years. God's country for sure! High desert, best climate in captivity! That was many years ago and I miss it to this day! Gotta tell you though, I do not miss the taxes in Arizona!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
