Seela 1,187 Posted November 24, 2013 Hi, I was sleeved 10/21 so that's 5 weeks tomorrow. I also had a hernia repair. I have had a very easy recovery, no nausea, I have no food restrictions what so ever. I have no more pain at all. I would love to add some sit ups and more strenuous excersise to my walking now that I'm feeling good. I don't go back to my dr. For a couple of weeks. Do you think it's ok or should I just do what is against my nature and be patient?
CassieWNY 100 Posted November 24, 2013 Seela - My recovery was similar to yours. I was cleared for exercise at 4 weeks and I started walking. Started out a more thorough personal training regime approximately 7 weeks post-surgery. I did not want to start out too early, hurt myself and get scared off. How about making a call to your surgeon and asking what you can add in? Just a thought. Best of luck to you on your journed.

Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted November 24, 2013 Seela, I was cleared for walking and elliptical type stuff at the 4 week appointment. They told me I couldn't do sit ups or core, or lift more than 25 pounds until 6 weeks. I belong to a CrossFit box, so there's no point going back until the 6 weeks are up. The only cardio machines we have are rowing machines, also off limits until 6 weeks. And I had a hernia repair too, so I'm tending toward the cautious side on this. Seela 1,187 Posted November 24, 2013 Yeah, me too, it's hard because I feel really good and I want to do it before I lose the desire! But I really don't want to hurt myself so I guess I'll just wait. Better safe than sorty... it's only another week or two right?
Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted November 24, 2013 Better to wait two weeks now than to really get injured and wait another six! 1 Seela reacted to this
