lsereno 2,525 Posted November 24, 2013 For those of you very early out, I suggest jazzing up your Protein drink with a little holiday flair. Add a little nutmeg to vanilla to make it reminiscent of eggnog. Or add Torini sugar free pumpkin pie Syrup. Maybe a nice butternut squash Soup. I'm 2.5 years out and at goal. I will be having a little of everything I like on Thanksgiving. The following days, I will eat the leftovers that are more healthy, mostly the green Beans, turkey, and sweet potatoes. And I will be drinking soy lattes with the sugar free pumpkin syrup. Lynda 3 Cabingirl, McButterpants and gamergirl reacted to this
Rubydoobie 12 Posted November 24, 2013 I'm fixing a complete Thanksgiving dinner for 16 people that day with all the trimmings. I plan on eating a total of 8 oz. max total - selection from the turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole & a bit of cranberry jelly - yep a taste of all. I am so THANKFUL for the sleeve and being in control of my portions for the first time in my life! I never would have believed that I would have lost over 80 lbs in 6 months - I have been transformed & renewed. This will be a great day of thanks & celebration with my family! 3 gamergirl, Fluffnomore and New Lease On Life reacted to this

gamergirl 4,610 Posted November 24, 2013 Turkey, brussel sprouts, green bean casserole, and pecan pie is what I've been dreaming about for the past week!!! Omg, Brazilian steakhouses are the best!!!!! I would choose the same four thing you did! Yum! Enjoy! how do you make the brussel sprouts? my husband likes them but I've never really cooked them. We don't have them in India, and you think I'd have tried them by now!
JanetPRN 496 Posted November 24, 2013 I am 2 months out and my plan is to wear my new black skinny jeans, put on some heels and work the room! I think if I look good , I'll feel good and feel anything but deprived. On my plate I'll have turkey , my moms sausage stuffing ( the absolute best!!!) and some yams. I may put other foods on my plate for appearances sake. The majority of the people in the room know of my surgery and truthfully , I dont want anyone to feel bad because they think I "can't" eat Thanksgiving dinner. My sleeve of steel will allow to have the things I like, but only in sample size portions. I am looking for to it! 2 Cabingirl and gamergirl reacted to this
Arts137 1,811 Posted November 24, 2013 Take fresh brussel sprouts, cut off the base (discard along with discolored leaves). Cut each head in 1/2. In bowl toss with good olice oil, salt & pepper. On a baking sheet lined with foil, spread the brussel sprouts. Add 2 TBS Water. Put a cover on the sprouts with more foil. (make a pouch with the top and bottom foil... want it to steam and tenderize for a bit) Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove the top foil. Return to 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes until parts of sprouts are nicely browned. wonderful and Good For You!!!! 4 gamergirl, MississippiQueen, McButterpants and 1 other reacted to this
Mlh 12 Posted November 24, 2013 Sleeved 10/23 and still have trouble with lots of foods-- too hard, I guess-and some liquids. I hope to be able to eat bites of turkey. Question--I was told not to eat celery now. Can I purée a bite of stuffing and still probably be okay even with some celery in it?
McButterpants 2,846 Posted November 24, 2013 I make Brussel Sprouts like Arts127 - cook them until they are a little caramelized. OMG - delicious. My husband only had them like his mom made them - she boiled the life out of them. He always said, "I don't like them. I won't eat them." After 15 years, I made them and now he actually asks for them. 2 gamergirl and Arts137 reacted to this

I know we can't have raw veggies for a while but I don't really know about cooked, pureed, celery.
Wags 549 Posted November 24, 2013 The celery is because it is stringy. I don't know if the chopped up bits in stuffing would be bad but I wouldn't think so. My plan is to eat a little bit of everything - starting with turkey. I think the turkey will fill me up immediately so everything else will be just a bite or two. Don't know if I will log on MFP. I plan to be over on calories, but I still like to know by how much when I am. 1 gamergirl reacted to this

outwithbenjiboi 227 Posted November 24, 2013 3 oz of turkey, an oz of steamed sweet potatoes (I add Torani SF Brown Sugar/Cinnamon instead of butter or brown sugar), a tiny bit of cranberry sauce, a couple of steamed green Beans, an oz of my homemade dressing with a tablespoon of gravy. I don't think it's going to be a problem at all. Last night, we took my daughter and her friend to Joe's Crab Shack, and they all had giant buckets of crab, butter, potatoes, corn on the cob, Desserts, drinks -- about a million calories. I had 5 of my 8-piece steamed shrimp appetizer, iced tea with Splenda, one spoonful of crab dip, and one tiny bite of my wife's key lime pie. They all felt horrible afterwards (none of them are overweight though). I walked the dog. AND I made all of my calorie, Protein and Fluid goals! 2 Cabingirl and gamergirl reacted to this
