100 calorie packs

Recommended Posts

What's your opinion on those? Good or bad? They don't really fill you up, but they're a convinient way to track your calories.

I have a hard time eating an entire pack, but my band is pretty tight. I love them. I also love the 100 calorie popcorn bags. ~Mandy

I think they are BAD ! I would literly eat the whole box in like a 12 hour period, therefore I never buy anything like that.

I keep them in my car. There have been days when I have been out longer than anticipated and needed something to eat. I figure 100 calories of chips or crackers would be better than fastfood or stopping in a convience store and eating an entire bag of something else. ~Mandy

I love them, but I think some of them taste awful. Like cardboard really! :) The chips a Hoy is one of the nasty ones. I love to keep them in my book bag for school, especially when I am in a study group. When they chow down on pizza I munch on those! :)

I think that they are nice to have around. We all need a treat here and there. I know if I buy a box of cheez-its or something I'll eat too much so I like the pre-portioned packages. The key is only sticking to one bag.

At work when I forget to have lunch, or the rare occasion that I'm not quite satisfied after, I'll grab a bag of the Oreo ones from the vending machines. They taste like chocolate graham crackers. Or a bag of the snack mix one. I don't care about tracking calories, I just think they taste decent and are fairly filling... and better than the Grandma's or Snickers.

There are the 100 calorie packs where they changed the food (i.e. chips ahoy, oreos), and then I found they make 100 calorie-packs that are the original, just smaller in size. I liked the first ones until I tried the 2nd ones. Sandies had shortbread Cookies in a 100 calorie pack.. mmm.. Those are my favorite, and I'm able to stick to 1 pack when I have these (I normally have one of these for snack at work). However, the place I got the Sandies from, doesn't have them anymore and I can't find them at any of the stores I go to.. just the original ones :(

I also keep some in my glove compartment for when I'm out and don't want to stop at a fast food place.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
