I posted earlier about how my lady is feeling the withdrawl by not being able to eat.... She is on day 4 of the liquid diet so I just wanted to know if anyone on her has any suggestions on how I can be a healthy supporter through this difficult time, I know its not much I can do and understand its for her but how can I be here for her without feeling like im pushing to hard for her to be strong mentally and physically... Any suggestions are 100% appreciated Thanks

Score a big one for caring....good for you. The first few days are miserable. The fatigue, headache, moodiness...we aren't the most pleasant. Everyone is different but for me just asking if I was okay or if there was anything I needed would have been grand...then leave me alone. Don't hover (unless she likes that of course) but truly I just needed to be alone those first few days. Offer to make a cup of tea or broth, don't eat around her, the smells are HELL at that point, but just make sure she knows you're there for her.

how I can be a healthy supporter through this difficult time

MRodgers (its a beautiful day in the neighborhood  )

you are aces for being so supportive for your honey :)

we see/read many posts from new sleevers that have no support people - so repeating

you are great, she is lucky to have you

then again you are lucky too ;)

i did enjoy my DH kindof of being around me and helping me

he would bring me hot broth and popsicles :)

kindof "enforce" the fact i needed to keep drinking

must not get dehydrated

for me, i appreciated the "little pushes" - it works for me ;)

take her lead, and run with it ;)

since you are obviously so caring - i'm sure you'll figure it out :)

good luck

kathy

I'm assuming she is being quite cranky, depressed, tearful and others that only you know. I'm just glad that she has someone like you to care for her through this. I would say to let her go through this and cater to her needs as long as you know what she can't eat so that you are not an enabler. Read these boards and forums so that you are an educated supporter.

Good Luck and hang in there!
