crosabi 24 Posted November 24, 2013 Has any one tried it or know much about it? I saw a commercial about it being high on Protein? ??
askvj1 6 Posted November 24, 2013 I don't know much but it does have a lot of sugars and carbs. To break the meat and Beans only I found Special K Protein Cereal the carbs r not the best but has 10 grams of protein and keeps me full with fat free milk and today a1/4 of a banana. For some reason on the weekends I tend to be hungrier more perhaps to much down time
pear425 32 Posted November 24, 2013 The knowledge I have received is that all the Special K products are not healthy. Very high in sugar with little nutritional value. This is according to my Bariatric NUT.
crosabi 24 Posted November 25, 2013 Ok. That's what I thought. I'm back to work and the past month has been very difficult with my weight lost. I'm not loosing as much as before. So I wanted to do something like it. My schedule isn't always the same so my eating patterns doesn't allow me to have that Breakfast lunch dinner like I should. Or like when I was home. crosabi 24 Posted November 25, 2013 Ok that's what I thought. Ever since I went bk to work I haven't been able to eat the right way (breakfast lunch dinner) due to different schedule everyday so I was looking for something like it. Any ideas?
VSG AJH 499 Posted November 26, 2013 What kind of surgery did you have? I know the recommendation for the sleeve is Protein first, then veg/fruit, then carbs. My schedule is kind of insane also, and while I'm still pre-op, I've been getting by by keeping pre-portioned servings of Protein Shakes with me. A couple of times I've picked up ready-made shakes on the go. My NUT also recommended sort of packing a whole day's worth of meals/nutrition goals, then eating on that as time allows. She said the planning/portioning in advance makes this more like thoughtful snacking and less like grazing, and if I pack all of my daily protein/reduced carbs, etc., I'll be guaranteed to meet my numbers. Bento boxes are great for something like this.
crosabi 24 Posted November 26, 2013 I had the sleeve on 10/07 n I was doing great at first but as a pharmacy tech my schedule got a little hectic and now they have this whole new rule that we can't keep our drinks near us which is what's throwing me off. Before I had it near me so it was a constant reminder kinda like in your face kinda thing now I go hours and not sip on anything cus we are so busy with flu, colds, and every one being sick.
