grandma22 21 Posted January 16, 2014 Hi everyone! I have been approved by my insurance and I am waiting for my surgery date. Maybe the end of February, hoping sooner though. I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life. I am going to Dr. Jawad in Orlando. 1 Beach Lover reacted to this

LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted January 16, 2014 Hello Florida friends. Hope everyone is doing great! All I can think about is getting on the beach when it warms up, and walk with the sand between my toes without gasping for breath! I am not panting because of my asthma anymore just coming home from the grocery store! Have a wonderful day today! 3 grandma22, gmanbat and Beach Lover reacted to this

LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted January 17, 2014 Hello Lynda, I am doing fantastic! I had surgery on a Monday at 3 pm, walked that evening a little, had a leak test the next morning, and went home about 3 pm. I had one dose of pain meds at home, rested, and went to the grocery store on Thursday. The following week I was shopping, something I hate to do, and I just had so much energy it was fun. Could not be happier!!! I am 67, older than you. I feel like a new person, honestly. I am off Metformin for diabetes, and off 1 BP medicine. Definitely my asthma is better, I am not gasping for breathe anymore when I come home from the store. My husband and I are so thankful we had this surgery!!!! 2 months out, and taking it easy with food. We avoid carbs and sugar, and keep our meals to the basics. You will be so happy to be sleeved, I promise!!!! Keep me posted Lynda.

I think it will go much better that way. My daughter was sleeved about 18 months ago. She had a few setbacks but she is doing well today. She is 29 weeks pregnant. And the baby is growing wonderfully. I will keep you posted after surgery! 1 LindafromFlorida reacted to this

viviana310 1 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) I'm thinking of going with Dr. Jawad... Can you give a little heads up on how his process works (preop diet, insurance issues, wait periods, etc)? Any/all info will help! Thanks in advance Edited February 14, 2014 by viviana310
