Had to vent a few minutes ago. It was not in a negative way, but on the "Sleeve" forum I left the title, "Complications." I don't care what procedure you chose or had, don't tell your negative story then tell people don't get it. I'm sorry things didn't work out, however, everyone body handles things differently. With any surgery complications are sure to happen, not just WLS. Again, "Sorry" for any complications anyone have had, but don't encourage others not to do WLS. Its not fair to people like me who comes on a support site for support. Yes, I want to know the good and bad, but don't tell people "Not" to do it. I'm torn on this whole thing. I literally have people telling me on this forum, "Don't do it, go the other route." If dieting and exercise was enough for me, then I wouldn't need these tools. Obviously, there's a problem and I need help, just like you did when you decided. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll take my chances. I can't be dead twice...I feel dead already, I can only come alive once I get this tool. Its my second chance at life, and I'm fighting back for it. "I WANT TO LIVE." "I'M GONNA LIVE."

What exactly are you trying to say?

You've posted something under complications which is a bit disparate - but not what i'd consider a 'vent' and now you're posting something here saying you're tired of it?

Tired of what, exactly?

People on the Sleeve forum? The Sleeve? The surgery comparison debate?

If someone is being negative towards you or your choices, you have the option to ignore and report.

If you're wanting to state your dissatisfaction with how people debate these issues - you're entitled. However, this is not original thought and you'll be joining a long queue!

whatever WLS you decide to get, use it as best as the doctor advises for best results and make yourself well..

you have seen those pro and con against whatever surgery and those who rally around one or the other and proclaim theirs rules the world BUT it boils down to you..and what you want and what you are willing to do to make sure the WLS you get works for you..only you can do that...

i let people on this forum get to me for the longest time...but not anymore...they dont know me and they are not my doctor...i am on my way..and so will you be.....

Hi essence......

I hope you make a good choice on which wls you decide on. It's a personal choice and it can be a hot debate on here. I personally choose the sleeve so that it is permanent and has less complications than the other procedures. My surgeon told me that it's the go to one now that's working better..... For me, I wanted something that was permanent and I got it. I have lost 100% of my EWL and if I had to chose again, I would chose the sleeve.......I'm 2 years post op.......I am skinny, but not too skinny.......I wish you well on your journey. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.......I know that most people on this site are very terrific people that want to help others.....they give honest opinions.... :P

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
