_imgood_ 63 Posted November 21, 2013 I was told I have to lost 10 lbs. not bad! My surgery date 12/5/2013. I'm excited and anxious all at once, I hope u don't bring you the opifast. Pray for me! Any encouraging words for all of you whom have started the shakes?
lilbootch 28 Posted November 22, 2013 I was also on shakes two weeks before surgery. The first couple days were a bit rough but I found drinking more Water helped me to feel full and not looking for something to eat. I also found myself doing more at the gym to keep my mind off not eating any solid foods. You'll get through shakeville and before you know it the day of surgery will be here. 2 _imgood_ and LindaLeevsg reacted to this

My Dr. doesn't force a liquid diet but in order to make weight i think( know ) i have to do it !!!!!! I had 10lbs to lose 2 weeks out and was put on liquid diet. I ended up losing 21 in just under two weeks. Just stick to what the Doc is telling you. I also ended up putting in some more time on the elliptical and treadmill just so I wouldn't think about wanting to eat something. You can do it.
Jo-bug 5 Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks for the vote of confidence .... I am working my a** off on our treadmill which i so conveniently put right smack in front of the tv lol ...im trying very low carb too (ketosis) i think is what they call fat burning stage and its not working ....now i believe my only hope is liquid diet.< /p> It seems like its gonna be so hard to drink my meals for that long!!!!! 2 _imgood_ and lilbootch reacted to this
jenRRT 10 Posted November 22, 2013 I started my liquid diet yesterday and i have the same surgery date as you! I am struggling with this all liquids thing...especially today. I'm working in the PICU and all the nurses and doctors ordered Chinese food! It's all I smell. I'm trying to drink all the Water I can to fill myself up and I just had my second shake of the day....This is by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do! Quitting smoking was easier than this. I'm looking up things on the internet about before and after pictures and reading about people's life changes to pass the time and keep my mind off of the intoxicating smell of fried rice! LOL! 2 _imgood_ and lilbootch reacted to this

_imgood_ 63 Posted November 22, 2013 Omg.....I can understand! Drinking the shakes was easier than I thought. I added a shot of expresso to the French vanilla shake and it was great! The strawberry was not bad at all either. It's a mind thing but I hope Thanksgiving day my will power ten times as strong! My surgery is important to me so I know I can do it! Keep in touch guys with your progression.
