I basically became bulimic I threw up everyday and had a hard time with "healthy" food. I just got approved for a revision for January 2014!

Sorry about that. I see why people do revisions, many slips.

i was happy with the band because I lost weight and felt good. but then when i started to have issues,it changed. of course i wanted to maintain my new weight but i couldn't live with the nightly reflux and the other symptoms of the slip. it had to be removed,

I also loved my band the 1st 2 yrs. Until the constant barfing caused a slip. Couldn't take the nightime reflux so I got an unfill to try to fix it. Didn't work and the barfing continued even without Fluid in my band. The slip eventually became a herniated. Had a revision 4 mths ago. While im losing slower than I would like, im eating everything I want, just about 6-8 bites of a meal. I've only vomited once (my fault, ate too much) vs almost daily with the band. I've been maintaining 153-155 for 2 mths so I feel that when I finally do get serious about losing the last 23 lbs, I will be easily able to maintain it.

And it feels good not to have a port (my "alien") sticking out of my clothes. Altho there is scar tissue where it used to be. No more pain when eating either. The sleeve just prevents u from overeating.

Good luck to u

I'm happy you did what was best for you. I've heard many complain about reflux with it.

I was happy with my band, honestly I had the revision to sleeve mostly because I was worried by all of the stories I read about it forming to the liver and erosion and also because I was sick of feeling stuck all the time and the inconsistency of eating from one day to the next. It gave me a great 6 years and Iv never regretted it, I'm hoping I can say the same for the sleeve six years from now but at 9 weeks out it's too early to tell.

Congrats on your sleeve. I pray it does you well in this life and next. 6 yrs with the band, that is excellent. But, you have to do what you got to do. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
