Ok, ok...I wasn't going to write anything about this but I have to be honest in the fact it is starting to really get me down. I was sleeved 10/21. In the first two weeks I lost 12 lbs. Since then just one pound, only 13lbs in a month. I have been stalled for two weeks now. I know there are many factors that go into a stall. Pre op I lost over thirty pounds on my own since August. I decided to change my eating habits then to get a jump on my new life. Since I had the surgery I have actually struggled to get my Protein in and enough calories. (And even fluids) In the past week I have really worked on that, knowing my body needs it to do the work. And I have even increased my exercise. I was just cleared to do "whatever I want" on Tuesday, but I already had started walking a lot and doing more physical things. I know form reading posts over and over that this is not uncommon, but I am really starting to be a little blue here. People are always asking "how much have you lost"? It is getting a little discouraging to say nothing since last time you asked. I just wish the darn scale would start heading down again. I do know to stay the course and all that, and that my body needs this time to adjust. I just wish I knew a way to help the process along faster...Just not a huge fan of waiting I guess.

don't be discouraged - you are doing all the right things & this will give you results. Check out gamegirl's post titled "you may be more successful than you think' for a different perspective on how much you have accomplished and where you are in your journey to better health and hopeful a baby :) Good luck and know that you are in good company in this forum.

I posted about stalls and linked to several articles that explained to me why stalls happen. Maybe they'll help you too?

Roo, I registered just so that I could respond, because I am in the EXACT same position.

I was also sleeved on 10/21. I lost 13lbs in the first two weeks and only one since then. You are not alone!

It IS really discouraging. But I just keep telling myself that the scale WILL move eventually. Are you taking measurements? Mine are going down and that has been helping a bit. Its not all about the scale...

I really wish I had taken measurements. My surgery got moved up a week and I was traveling for work when it all happened. I got home at 2am and went in for surgery at 9am. I didn't have time to measure and beyond that, I have no excuse. It's taken me almost 3 weeks to lose 5 pounds. I take comfort in knowing I'm doing all the right things and it will happen....eventually.

Ladies,

I just got out of my first stall. Sleeved 10/16. Four days of preop liquids dropped 10 lbs off my 238 and I was 228 morning of surgery. The next day I went home at 238 with 10 extra lbs of Water from IV! ARGH! But I managed to get that off plus another 16 since surgery....but when I hit 217, 3 weeks post-op, I stayed there for about 10-12 days before the scale budged again....then I started losing again and now down to 212. It is SO frustrating when it happens but the scale WILL move again! You weight loss in on par with average losses for most folks. If you lose it any faster, you will look like a deflated Gummy bear (my best analogy that keeps my brain in line with reality! lol).

This is so helpful- I am about 2.5 weeks post op and the scale hasn't budged in 4 or 5 days! I was wondering if there is anything special you are supposed to do about it, but from what everyone is saying it sounds like you just need to follow your program and stick it out. I keep trying to focus on the accomplishments I've made so far- I am at my lowest weight in more than 3 years- but I just keep worrying I am doing something wrong and that's why I'm stuck. Good to know that's not the case!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
