Just curious, but why is it that I see veterans that choose not to have a profile pic? Seems like once you reach your goal weight, or close to it, that you would be proud of how you look and want to post a profile pic, even before & after pics. Maybe some people want to keep their identity secret. I can fully understand why someone that has not lost their weight would not want to post a pic. I guess, when I read a post from someone, I want to be able to see what they look like. Makes everything a little more personal. By the way; if you're one of the people that chooses not to post a pic, I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm just curious.

Not a vet, but I had a pic briefly and decided I didn't want it picked up in a screen shot for use on the Bariatic Pal app.

i'm not a vet, nor am I particular sensitive about my appearance.

I just like to keep my identity private and be evaluated on the content of my character in this here cyber-t'internet-world.

That is all :D

Could also be laziness! LOL When I signed up here I was at work and didnt have access to any personal pictures so I'm not even using the Avatar I use everywhere else. I usually read this forum at work and I'm limited to what I can do because technically I don't need the Internet to do my job. I could of course upload something from home, I just never have.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
