Kyrie 9 Posted November 19, 2013 I was just sleeved a week ago, and I really need to start exercising some. The problem is I can't get to a gym, and even if I could, I'm way too nervous around people to actually go. I'm also at school and/or working all day, so the only time I have to exercise is at night, and I don't really want to go walking around my neighborhood when it's dark. So I'd thought I'd get myself a treadmill, or maybe an elliptical, so I can walk in the safety and comfort of my own home. (And in front of my own tv haha). But the only ones I can find that are under $1,000 have weight limits of 300 or lower. Does anyone have any suggestions for some relativly inexpensive high capacity treadmills/ellipticals? roundisashape 712 Posted November 20, 2013 You might be able to find something on craigslist, but you'll probably have to move fast and google product information on another page while you're responding on another. I've seen a few people post sturdy equipment at reasonable prices but I've never been quick enough. While you're looking, there are a lot of free workout videos on youtube. I've even tried bellydancing, which I'd never do in front of another human being! My favorites are the walk away the pounds exercises, they're easy on the joints and a lot of the versions are online. roundisashape 712 Posted November 20, 2013 Oh, and congrats on getting sleeved! It's great that you're only a week out and already feeling up to exercise!
wcn1970 239 Posted November 21, 2013 I was over 300 and using our elyptical for years with no issues. That is a safety notice so you can't sue them. We have the Nordic track from Sears. Really nice machine for around 1k and I am a gym equipment snob.
Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted November 21, 2013 I tested out some high capacity workout equipment at Obesity Week and was pretty impressed. Check out http://www.nustep.com/us/consumer/ for more info. Might not fit your budget but definitely something to research.
