No Pre-Op Diet?!?!

Hi all!

So it seems to me that everyone on this site is required to do a pre-op diet. I find it strange that my surgeon does not require that of me- he just told me no food or Water after midnight the night before surgery.

However, I somehow feel that I should put myself on a diet the week before my surgery. But what kind of diet?

Is there anyone out there that isn't doing a pre-op diet?

My doc did't require one which I wondered about in the beginning. All was well though and I am a month out and doing fine. Best wishes to you!

Don't torture yourself, just do what your doctor says and be happy about it. Not everyone has to do a pre op starvation diet. If you insist upon doing it, you have a number of options. You can choose a balanced Meal Replacement Protein shake and drink it during the day, staying around 800 cal a day (3-4 shakes). You could do low or no carb, high Protein food diet. You could do a combination of the two, keeping your calories around 800. My personal advice, enjoy your last weeks of eating.
