mumoftwo 34 Posted November 19, 2013 Hi all Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of the pain associated with the air the surgeon puts in your chest during surgery. I had my band removed 4 days ago and the pain in my shoulder from the air is unbareable. Thanks in advance 7 1/2 weeks til my sleeve
tommyd 125 Posted November 19, 2013 Try gas X strips, but for me walking helped the most. Move as much as you can.
SkinnyScarlett 57 Posted November 19, 2013 I have the same pain but it is getting better each day. Tommyd is correct - Gas-X and walking are the key! Good luck! S..
2Big2Skate 328 Posted November 19, 2013 Yes, being active helps. I found changing my sleeping posture often helped. The longer i was in one position the more it hurt. I slept in a recliner the first week so I could go up and down a bit with the angle.
McButterpants 2,846 Posted November 19, 2013 Walking, Gas-X, walking, Gas-X. Then repeat! :-) Walking probably helped me more than anything. I'm 5 days post-op and still have a little discomfort, but not as much as yesterday or the day before. Good luck!
JollyG 4 Posted November 19, 2013 The CO2 from the operation will be gone after even 1 day. What you have now is gas like a baby gets when it eats. You need to be burped. Best way is walking. Try not to gulp air when you drink. Small sips.
mumoftwo 34 Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks everyone. A heat pack and pain meds helped last night, and I did a lot of walking today. Significantly less pain tonight
