My next goal is to be under 175 because the last time I was that weight was 19 years ago! It's hard to believe that is achievable. I'm not sure I'll completely believe it until it happens.

you can do it. Unreal. I haven't been under 175 since high school. And I was sooooo fat then ;)

I remember when I went from morbidly obese, to obese, to overweight. Like you, they were milestones for me. I'm 17 pounds away from being considered "normal weight". Everyone tells me if I lose 17 more I will look sick. I'm not sweating it and letting my body tell me where it will end up. I just hit 101 pounds lost and feel great. Thanks for sharing. Started my day with a smile :)

I have less than 1 kg to go until overweight. I started super morbidly obese 6 months ago! I have not been this light since I was 18 years old when I went from around 55 kg to 70 kg in a single year my freshman year of university. I am now 35. The closest I have gotten since then was when I very briefly smooched 70 kg after 3 years of obsessive Weight Watchers from 2002 to 2004. I couldn't make myself keep up the obsession and just couldn't get lower (or maintain). This time I feel HOPE!

Exactly the same for me. I too considered the band several years ago and then decided to keep trying and of course, ended up heavier than before. Tell you what, the universe unfolds the way it should.

I would bet a vast majority of us have been "considering" this for years. I agree that we do it when the time is right. I went through all the testing three years ago. I'm sorry I didn't do it then in some ways, but I am much happier with my surgeon this time AND Aetna Medicare is paying! Plus, my surgeon took the endoscopy report from before. 12 days until Sleeve day.

Wow, 101 lbs! That's quite an achievement. You should be proud :)

I can relate Misty. Last time I was at this weight, I had been in bed for 3 months, trying to survive an illness. The time before that, I had worked out with a trainer 3 times a week, 12 months of eating very, very clean and being hungry a lot.

This time, I got there from living a near-normal life, and feasting on shrimp, lobster, chicken, beef, and other yummies. I'm starting to believe that I will be normal weight one day now, which I haven't seen since in 20 years.

13 days is not very long! Did you have to start a liquid diet?

Yes I think you're right, it happens when the time is right. I'm not sure I was emotionally and mentally ready for it all those years ago. This time, I most definitely was.

GG, I can SO relate! It's hard to imagine that the weight will continue to come off. We're so used to failing at weight loss that we just can't wrap our heads around finally succeeding. I'm at 25.5 BMI so one pound and I'll be "normal". I'm hoping to get to 140 before Christmas! Your doing GREAT!! And you WILL make it!!

Yep, I'm on the two shakes a day, protein/veggie regimen. But, I also have permission for a moderate dinner today. I have been doing the shakes for a few days, practicing up. Afternoons are long, and last night I went to bed earlier than usual...surprised I went to sleep fairly well. I was scared of surgery three years ago, now not so much. Certainly this forum has helped...checking things off the "take/don't take to the hospital list" and learning all sorts of things. Have ordered a few products. I'm trying to stay busy for these remaining days.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
