Has Anyone Had This Experience?

Recommended Posts

I just went for my second to last weigh in, and like usual I left my primary care doctor's office with my head hung in shame...I told her when I began to seriously consider having the sleeve done what my intentions were...she was vaguely discouraging at that time...each time I've gone back she's gotten less and less encouraging...this time when I went to weigh she told me she felt like I was just "using her to get weight loss surgery"...I was completely at a loss...the only reason I'm going to her for the last weigh in is I'm scared if I don't she will somehow hold my paperwork hostage...I just feel like this is the most absurd situation ever...why am I allowing my own doctor to shamed me about my decision to have this surgery?

My doctor was surprisingly supportive...it was the dietitian that she sent me to for my 6 month diet that made me feel that I was just using her to get the surgery. It didn't matter that I lost 10-11 pounds while using the tips she gave me. It makes you feel like you are doing something not quite ethical, and I hate that.

Somehow it's not enough to judge me because I'm obese, let's judge me as well for wanting to do something about it...okay, I will stop being bitter now

I had a Dr like that also but she didnt say she felt like i was using her i mean how the hell do u USE a doctor?! they are there to help you reach any goals health wise arent they? have u looked up workshops near ur area? thats where u get started. after the work shop the surgeon office will set u up with an appt to talk to one of their people they will help u any way they can even if its finding a dr who they KNOW supports weight loss surgery that takes ur imsurence. so might need to be prepared to switch doctors.

I was tempted to tell her I felt she was just using me for my co-pay but I bit my tongue..Dec 2nd and I am done with all my requirements for surgery and I can submit to my insurance company, thank goodness...I'm not trying to rock the boat with her..this whole waiting game experience has been so nerve wracking so far...I'm hoping to get scheduled in December

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
