purplefaery 48 Posted November 18, 2013 I know this is a silly question. Cream Soups are listed on my full luquid diet for post-op. When I see this, I think of what my mom refers to as "cream of something soup." Like Campbells cream of chicken or cream of mushroom, or cream of whatever... is that the right product or am I way off base?
gomekast 559 Posted November 18, 2013 Yes that is correct . I tried it post op and it was a no go for me. It ended up being a trigger food for me and it is a slider. I had it once. I still avoid them. If you do try it be sure to stick to the serving size your NUT has designated based on the stage your in. Your nerves may be numb post op send you won't be able to tell her your full from eating any creamed Soups. Good luck!
unbesleevable1 420 Posted November 18, 2013 I had cream of chicken, reduced fat (I think) in my first week post op. My mom strained it, and it was the best thing I ever had!!
Roo101769 742 Posted November 18, 2013 I made "cream of" Soup while I was in my full liquid stage. I blended cream of chicken, cream of broccoli and cream of potato together. ( all pureed in food processor to make sure no chunks) It tasted really good, but became old fast. If I never eat another cream of soup again I will be a-ok. notime 340 Posted November 18, 2013 Definitely be careful how much you buy. Too much emphasis is placed on the early diet, which is over before you know it. Then you're left with a bunch of food you don't want to eat later on. This goes for Protein powders/drinks, too.
DirtyHarriett 94 Posted November 18, 2013 I was just finishing a very small amount of cream of asparagus. It was tasty. I split it into individual servings so I would not eat too much. The hardest part is remembering to not drink and eat together.
