Mid West 99 Posted November 18, 2013 I read so often about people getting ulcers after surgery. Is there anything, apart from avoiding anti inflammatory drugs, that we can do to keep ulcers away?
Mid West 99 Posted November 19, 2013 I take 20mg of Omeprazole every day anyway so I'm hoping that has a positive effect where avoiding ulcers is concerned.
oldoneyoungagain 200 Posted November 19, 2013 I have taken 20 mg omeprazole twice daily, use to take 40mg Nexium, for years. Probably will continue. Never had a problem with acid reflux after the band, but as a precaution continued taking it because of all the medications I had to take. I felt with all the meds my stomach was a toxic waste dump, and my imagination kept seeing the dump bubbling. Now that I have had bypass, will definitely stay on it, think it is a good precaution to being pro active.

I take 2-20mg Omeprazole/Prilosec per day for ulcer and GERD prevention. Molly 1 Mid West reacted to this
