Nice, Angel ! :) You're awesome.

Ok, are there really collapsable Ziploc containers, or did you mean disposable? I really should do that... but I'd be worried I'd get 'busted' trying to sneak food into it! I shouldn't care, and just set it on the table... but I'm weird.

*I* went to Boston pizza the other day, super-craving nachos, but knowing I couldn't come close to eating them all, so asked if they had a smaller size, or could do a smaller size .... got a definite NO. Jerks. I ordered the full size anyways, and ya know what... I almost finished it. This thing is nuts. I'm always scared ordering food, cause I never can tell when it's gonna be 'one of those days'.

Hey... I was down 1 lb yesterday! Finally... as you might remember, I've been stuck in the 179's for freakin' months!

Who cares if you put food that you already paid for into your ziploc containers though mandi!!! I mean, you wouldn't do it at an all you can eat buffet...but a regular restaurant...sure!!!

By the way.....I love the "cactus cut potatoes" at BP....have you had those?? YUMMMMMMY and they go down well....very spicey though...so if you don't like spice or it bugs your band.....not recommended!

I was refering to these ones. Yes they are collapsable. http://www.rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid/collapsibles/collapsibles.jhtml

Yoda: Damn you, now I am going to be craving those damn cactus cut potatoes. They are the best thing ever. Mrs. Gaffer was addicted to those when she was pregnant. My mouth is literally watering right now, where can I get some of these at 8:14am?

On a side note. The Kit Kat blizzard was a dissapointment. Split one last night and it was not the peice of nirvana that I thought it would be.

I agree with Yoda, if you pay for it and it's not a buffet use the collapsble containers. And ENJOY!

Gaffer....if you like the cactus cuts....have you tried the perogie pizza??? TO DIE FOR!!!!!! and spiiiiiiicy!!!! YUMMMI!!!

I still have it sometimes; order the individual and I can eat (slowly) two pieces and bring the rest home. Now, before you all freak out at me being able to eat "two pieces"....the Individual BP pizza is extremely small.....ONE piece can be eaten by a "normo" in like two or 3 bites....so two pieces is about 12 bandster bites!

Now MY mouth is watering!

Stop, your killing me here. I have had the perogy pizza. Actually I dont think there is a thing on the menu that I have not tried.

When I worked for my Dad in the summers before I was old enough to go to the pub we ate there pretty much everyday.

Hi,

I am exploring the band as an effective, but more importantly, long term solution to weight loss. My bmi is 45 and I am trying to determine if reasonable numbers of others have lost and regained their weight after going the band route??

I am hoping to hear from people who have been down the band route and have more than 1-2yrs+ experience on it. Thank you.

Toronto, Canada

Hi your requests leaves me out, but if you don't get the answers here, try the Canadianbanders website thru Yahoo. Most patients are from the TLBC and Dr. C's clinic. There are a number that have pasted the year mark some into the 5 & 6 year mark. Doddie

Java...your best avenue would be to post your query in the "General" thread of the site. You will reach a bigger audience there rather than in this specific thread on the canuck site. In fact I'm sure there are already several threads with regards to this issue ....use the search key and something will likely come up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
