What Are Some Examples Of Sliders?

Recommended Posts

popcorn, chips, crackers, Cookies, etc. Everyone varies on what they can tolerate but in general sliders are food that you can eat a lot of before feeling restriction. Most agree simple carbs like above generally fall it the category of sliders.

I wonder why? I am 7 weeks out and have a lot of restriction. I mostly eat Proteins but am very curious as to what foods are sliders and why? I just want to EAT sometimes and it would be nice for it to be nutritious.

Thanks!

Eating sliders is common when people are "eating around their band". They are foods which no not require much chewing, are not solids like our Protein is supposed to be, and do not stay in your pouch very long. Therefore the tendency is to eat more than a proper portion size. The consequence is taking in more calories than you should, and then eating more when you are hungry again too soon.

Typical slider foods vary from person to person, but ice cream, popcorn and Peanut Butter are typical sliders for me.

Many people engage in self sabotage of their own weight loss efforts, and eating around your band is a typical method we can do that.

These are not dense foods like Protein is...These are carbs that have little value in getting us to our goal! I have popcorn as my main slider...I can eat 3 cups without feeling it...A slider is that because you can't hold it in your sleeve. It leaves the sleeve fast....And ends up in your intestines where you get little or no benefit out of it....

Soon your new tummy will relax a bit and you will find that you will be able to eat more...That is when the red flag goes up over sliders......

We all have them...You will find out which ones you have and avoid it as much as possible....K

Basically picture your sleeve...at the bottom of your sleeve is a flap..when you eat nice Proteins it triggers that flap to close in turn filling up your sleeve, that is why you are told Protein first than veggie and carbs if any room, sliders, called such cause they just slide on thru and dont trigger that little flap....these foods if eaten should be done so in moderation :)

Ritz crackers and Kettle chips! They are soooo easy to eat and so very bad. They are no longer allowed in my house.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
