jko 1 Posted November 16, 2013 Hello Everyone, I had my Roux-En-Y on 11/12/2013 and all has gone well. I was not in the hospital very long and have been doing fine at home. One thing that seems to linger is the pressure/pain from gas. I was not given any information on OTC drugs to take for relief, but I have seen some folks on the forum referencing GasX Thin Strips. I was wondering if anyone has had experience using them and how that worked out. Are they safe to take 4 days post-op? I can deal with the pain and pressure, but any relief would be awesome! The gas pain is from gas trapped around your diaphragm that sends pain signals. From what I understand, GasX doesn't help that kind of gas. The best thing to do is walk around. It can take up to a week for the gas to dissipate.

ajustice 484 Posted November 18, 2013 What's a Gas X "strip"? And I, too, heard walking around is best. They are dissolvable thin strips located by the regular gas x tabs. Can find them pretty much at any cvs or walgreens. I used them. Not sure if they are the most helpful thing but lord knows almost 7 months post I'm still using them...or my husband would chase me outta my house! 1 Mkmb2006 reacted to this
