Miss Mac 6,262 Posted November 15, 2013 My sleeve date is coming up in December, and I have already begun window shopping online for clothing in smaller sizes for women in their sixties. The last time I weighed anywhere near my goal weight of 135 was in the mid 1980's, and I wore a size 10. But I see where women weighing 140+ say they are in size 4 or 6. Have sizes changed that much over the years?????? Where can I go shopping that 140 pounds fits that small a size? Now I don't know where I will be shopping. I am confused. I normally shop online because of mobility issues, but I guess my new body is going to be so strange to me that I am going to HAVE to try things on as my weight goes down. Stacy_wls 135 Posted November 15, 2013 Women's sizes vary significantly depending on the brand. When I was 195 I wore mostly 14s but could fit in some 12 and one 10 skirt. It depends on. Your frame, muscle mass, and most importantly the designer. I'm 5'10, I do think height affects it as well. Lots of online shopping you can turn too. But you might find your mobility is much better once you start losing
Beach Lover 1,084 Posted November 16, 2013 You answered your own problem. You will definitely need to try things on. Sizes vary from store to store and I have had to try everything on before I bought it Keep to the thrift stores, Walmart etc. while you are losing because you will find that your new clothes will get big on you and then you have to get more. It's a good problem but it can get expensive. I have outlet malls by me and frequent the clearance racks to save. Good luck with your surgery!!
