When you get fills does it feel sore like you are being pinched at your band shortly after the fill?

I've had so many fills over the years I can no longer count, and I've experienced everything from bruising, little blood running out to pain. (But that was with my first surgeon), I have not had any of those issues with my new surgeon, so it does matter who is filling your band.

But overall with most of my fills there is just a slight pinch when he stick the needle in.

Some people have very hard stomachs, and it may hurt larger banded people since they have a larger stomach, but usually MOST fills should not hurt, just a little sting and it usually takes about 1 minute if the fill giver knows what they are doing.

My surgeon fills my band, thank god, and I have a low profile port, a very small port that you can't see, and he finds my port in a second and my fill is over before I know it, he is really good.

He sterilize the area and wipe down my stomach, and fills my band, some surgeons will remove all the saline to check how much is in there, but my surgeon, only add more saline, since we already know what I have, and then he puts a bandaid and I drink my Water and go .

Well it felt like I was too tight (kind of like a stuck episode but no food was eaten). I almost thought I had to go back to get an unfill but it eased-up quite quickly (within a couple of hours).

So no pain ever??....even when you get close to the green zone and a little tight due to swelling from the fill?

I am not to the green zone yet, but I have never had any pain after a fill.

Do you try a hot beverage in the morning. Something my nutritionist refers to as "waking the band"

I have had 2 fills, the first was 2.5 cc, and my second 1cc, I didn't have any "pain", just a slight discomfort after my first one and queasiness both times. The second fill I was less queasy though, only a few hours.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
