I love the Unjury Protein powders. Used the chicken Soup a ton in the first four weeks after surgery. Right now their chocolate Splendor and Very vanilla are my go-to basics. I am thinking of transitioning to something else just because they are comparatively expensive. Probably Syntrax Matrix Milk Chocolate for my chocolate, it is less expensive and tastes very similar IMO. I picked up a small tub of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Vanilla Ice Cream to try out as well. But I have been VERY happy with Unjury other than the price!

I use all the unjury Protein powders and I use their chewable Vitamins too. You can get a sample pack, but I've used for over six months and still like 'em all.

Service is good and they fast ship!

I got the unjury Protein powders - chocolate, vanilla and unflavored. I didn't get the chicken although I heard it was great. Now I am glad I didn't because I did a lot of low sodium broth pre surgery and now being a few days out I had some broth and the taste of it stayed in my mouth/throat for a full day. Yuck. Hopefully I will get over this because I did really love the broth. Still do, just don't like it lingering... We are all truly different so you will just have to see what works best for you. You can't go wrong with the unflavored!

Another thing, I heard that getting our food needs the most economically was by ordering from Amazon. Just sayin what I heard, don't know if it's the gospel.

Good luck!

PS: the shipping was awesome when I ordered from Unjury. I ordered 3 cans and the shipping was $6.95 or something like that. Very reasonable...

I liked the chicken Soup pre-op, couldn't stand it post op....was just too salty for me. Wasted 2 canisters :(. As far as shakes I prefer the syntax Nectars, Unjury is second, don't love either of em though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
