bubles089 35 Posted November 13, 2013 I am 15 months post op and still haven't reached my goal, I started at 240 and I'm currently 158. The lowest I have gotten is 156. since march I have only lost 15lbs!! I had my gallbladder out in march and since then my body won't lose well!! I bust my ass at the gym! For the past 3 months I have been doing an hour of intense cardio 4 times a week and weights for another 45 mins every other day. I am very active at my job, I work all over a hospital. I am still extremely restricted in my diet, I can only eat a few bites. My normal diet is 2 Greek yogurts, a Protein Shake, and some sort of protein( seafood salad with very little mayo, turkey chili, lunch meat). I have almonds as Snacks and don't drink calorie drinks. I honestly am soo frustrated because I feel like I'm doing everything right and it's not working. I am measuring my % body fat too. It's holding steady at 33%. Has anyone had a stall like this and conquered it!? I am not at goal, I am only 5'1" I want to be 135. I still have a big belly on me! Ugh sorry this is so long but no one gets my frustration because they all say ohh but look how much you have lost and your skinny now(I'm really not it's just relative to what I was). I did not get my stomach cut in half not to get to my goal!
moonlitestarbrite 902 Posted November 13, 2013 how many grams of Protein are you getting daily? how many calories? how much Water? do you use a device that measures your calories burned each day?
UK Cathy 977 Posted November 13, 2013 Do you use mfp which will give you a record of you cals, Protein etc. I know that some people have posted that they find they need more calories when they have a heavy exercise program so try increasing your calories but in a good way maybe with some extra protein. LipstickLady 25,682 Posted November 13, 2013 It sounds to me like you aren't eating enough for your activity level. Have you consulted your NUT about your diet? Do you track and log your foods? Do you know how much protein/how many cals/carbs you are getting in each day?You need more fuel!! 1 Amie reacted to this
lsereno 2,525 Posted November 13, 2013 I'm going to go a different direction and suggest you weigh and measure all foods and write everything down before you eat it. At 15 months out, you should have some room for a little fruit or vegetable and some whole grains. Be sure to measure ingredients too, like the mayo in seafood salad. Also log your fluids and get at least 64 oz per day. I suggest getting at least 65 grams of Protein per day, 800 to 1000 calories per day, and at least two servings of no starchy veggies. feedyoureye 3,087 Posted November 13, 2013 OK,I can understand your frustration, but 15 pounds in 7 months is not that bad toward the end of weight loss. It sounds like you are really working it, and I would guess the exercise may be changing the composition... have you measured? Do what the ladies have recommended if your not already, weigh, measure and post on MFP. It is revealing. At 15 months, things will slow down. I was not only slowed down, but heading in the wrong direction until I started using the 5:2 method... I have slowed down again, but not before I got to about 3 pounds from goal..... Keep in mind that the average 2 year EWL for the sleeve is less than 70%. ... you are now at around 80%, you are doing great! I bet you are a lot more fit as well. The last few pounds may just take a long time to get off, but it will feel just as good when you get there!
