MindiJean 93 Posted November 12, 2013 Were you given the option of taking a shower after your surgery? I'm supposed to be in for three days and I can't imagine not showering for three days?
ekmw 56 Posted November 12, 2013 I was allowed to shower the day after my surgery. I'm unsure on how you'll be after surgery, but I didn't want to do anything after, not even "eat".
Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted November 12, 2013 Surgery Thursday, shower Saturday. I spent a lot of time sleeping Friday anyway.
PdxMan 4,292 Posted November 12, 2013 I was outpatient. I was released from the clinic around noon, went to the hotel and took a four hour nap. Woke up and took one of the best showers of my life. Took the wife out to dinner, walked all over downtown Las Vegas (Baby!), played a few hands of blackjack and was back in bed by 9:00. Woke up the next day to another glorious shower. rls41998 91 Posted November 12, 2013 I took shower next day. Have showered everday since being home. Was told no baths no sitting in Water. Go back tomorrow to have drain tube removed! Super excited to get it out!
gomekast 559 Posted November 12, 2013 I ws2s given the option the day 2, but I said no. I don't like showering in hospitals. You will be given the choice at some point.
Cabingirl 55 Posted November 13, 2013 If you feel well enough and are steady on your feet, and a shower hasn't been offered, request one. Typically the clinicians want to ensure that you're able to stand safely for the shower.
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted November 13, 2013 Well this isn't what you asked.....but after my TT surgery I couldn't shower for 12 days. I went through alot of wet wipes and thank goodness for sponge baths....and a willing wife.

LipstickLady 25,682 Posted November 13, 2013 I went in on Thursday, home on Friday and showered Friday. Just pat the incisions dry and don't use too hot of Water. It could make you light headed.
