TeresaRN 57 Posted November 12, 2013 Have chronic back pain and had microdiscecomy 18 months ago with okay results. For folks who have been sleeved.. Did your back pain get better or go away after surgery? I am hoping my pain will decrease !! I am so sick of being in pain !❤️
kmbrcvzs 23 Posted November 12, 2013 I am only 3 weeks out from surgery but have been fighting chronic back issues since January. I went to see my Dr. today and was told I am running out of options. I have done physical therapy and gone to a pain clinic for months. I have had 3 different injections and I still have pain everyday. I am so tired of popping pills and having pain but I don't want to have back surgery. I am hoping losing weight and exercising will help. Unfortunately my back issues will never be cured without surgery, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis and spondylthesis.
funcatch 5 Posted March 2, 2015 Any updates? I did the sleeve 10/2014 because of my back and hip problems (ddd, stenosis, facet atrophy, and now hip tendonapthy). I have no regrets for doing the sleeve. I feel like the degeneration has slowed way down. But the damage that has been done is done. Now it's hard to figure out my options to deal with the pain. NSAIDs can't be used like before. I'm off to physical therapy again. Also my body needs more strengthening to readjust to the weight loss of 40lbs. Any suggestions on how to deal with back/hip pain after the sleeve? I'm only 30 yo.
