MindiJean 93 Posted November 10, 2013 I have enough of my two insulin pens to last through my surgery on the 20th. Should I refill? Do most diabetics get off their meds after surgery?
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted November 10, 2013 It varies HUGELY. And maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. But I don't think you can bet the farm on being completely off your neds. Also, particularly with insulin, I'd be very nervous about not having your refill on hand. I'd ask your doc what he thinks before you spend the $$$ though. Good luck!! Fingers crossed for amazing results.
gomekast 559 Posted November 10, 2013 What does your surgeon think? I'd ask him..
cindymg 629 Posted November 11, 2013 Took 4 months for my blood sugar to drop enough to discontinue all diabetes meds. I kept cutting back and cutting back, but after 20+ years as a diabetic it didn't happen overnight.
