Maurdan 2 Posted March 10, 2007 <!--StartFragment -->I had my first fill on Feb. 9th. The doctor put in 2.5cc in my 4cc band. Lately, I've noticed that I get "stuck" quite often in the afternoon when I eat lunch (I eat oatmeal for breakfast). I've even had to PB a few times. Yet, at dinner I don't seem to have any restriction. For instance, tonight I was able to eat a pretty large salad and spaghetti (well-cooked, angel hair with sauce). I don't know if I should get another fill or not. I'm really concerned about the amount I can eat, yet at the same time I get the stuck feeling more often. And now I'm really scared about pouch packing since I've read the posts in this section. I need advice please.
Trace Curry 1 Posted March 10, 2007 This is common to be much looser as the day progresses. This makes it tough as you really have to watch how you eat and may not be able to get much solid food down until dinner. You might go over to my web site and post a message for my banded dietitian on the forum there, she probably has some good tips. Dr. C Cincinnati, Ohio Got a question? I think all surgeons who are experienced with the lap band have had some port leaks, it is a recognized complication. You should be able to get back on track when the leak is fixed, there is no way to be successful with a band that is leaking it's like trying to drive on a flat tire! Trace W.
