jatherley 126 Posted November 9, 2013 When did you start taking Iron supplements? I was never instructed to take them. They were mentioned in my post op packet but not on my list of Vitamins start taking.
clk 3,519 Posted November 9, 2013 I didn't start until my labs - sometime shortly after one year post op. I was very low in Iron. I should have done labs at 6 months, too, but didn't. I've always had a problem with Iron and even three years post op I take a prescription iron supplement daily. ~Cheri
cathythomas222 0 Posted September 9, 2015 You really should be taking an Iron supplement and a quality one. You have a pretty good shot at becoming anemic within a year or two if you don’t and prevention is always better. I personally take Vita4Life Iron supplement because I’ve tried everything else and nothing works as well as this product does. I also don’t fancy brown teeth and chewable iron tends to do that over time. The GREAT thing is this Iron supplement also packs a B12, Folate, and Vitamin C punch. Check em out and good luck! http://vita4life.net/bariatric-vitamins-iron-support.html
