I am 34 days out of surgery and have woken up every morning since with the most sour, acidic and fiery stomach. Water doesn't seem to help. I immediately take my chalky, stomach coating liquid stuff and pop my PPI. It takes the entire morning, sometimes into the afternoon to feel "normal". I've tried eating right away but nothing seems to alleviate it.

Is this what you vets experienced? When does it stop happening??? Any tips?

I would suggest you call the surgeon. It sounds like you may have gerd or reflux and don't want it to get worse. I was prescribed and have taken nexium which has been very helpful to me. Good luck to you on being sleeved and your journey. It's not going to be easy, but if you stick to the program and you'll see real results.

It may be that you have to take your PPI twice daily instead of once daily. I would discuss trying it with your surgeon. I hope you get relief quickly!

I've seen my surgeon twice about this issue. He told me, it's a normal part of the healing process and that I'm on all the meds I need to be on. He told me walking and Water will help with it. I can barely get Water down some hours because it just regurgitates back up. I'm feeling really discouraged. I hope it's not my "new life" like this ;-(

I would suggest chewable Calcium anti acids and maybe adding sucrafate to the mix. I had severe GERD prior to surgery and it's thankfully gone now!! But sucrafate was my saving grace before. It's requires a script from MD but is a fast dissolve tablet that can be crushed and mixed with liquid. Hope you feeling better soon!!!
