Congrats! My surgery is also on Monday 11/11/13 :) I'm so nervous and excited so many emotions... I'm sure every one has a different diet so I would also like some ideas... As for me I was told to drink 4oz of clear liquid every hour ... Meaning broth, Protein Shots, etc... But I would love to hear other ideas! Congrats again

Thanks so much for the info nervous&happy, I am having many emotions as well. And my husband keeps encouraging me about it. He said it will be like a blink of an eye to me and it's over. Oh and congrats to you as well

My surgery is on Monday too! I am not sleeping well. Dreamed I ate 2 Cheetos and woke up trying to spit them out of my mouth. GLAD it was just a dream. Overall I am just super-excited and catch myself grinning ear to ear for no reason.

To answer your question, besides Water there's low-sodium broth, Protein shakes, Decaf tea, decaf coffee, sugar free Crystal Light and 4 oz. sugar free Jello to eat. I 'think' it's just like my pre-surgery diet except I won't be eating the 170 calorie Lean Cuisine dinner since it's all liquids at first.

Dear Hope4me45, Rereading the answers, Nervous&Happy mentioned 4 oz. which jogged my memory so I went and looked up Stage 1 in my Gastric Sleeve Manual. There is a sample meal plan that w/b helpful. I don't see how to send attachments here so I will send it to you in a private message.

I drank whatever clear beverage I could get down. Honestly, it's hard to say what your sleeve will tolerate post op.

I'm 17 days post op and it's changed day to day. Propel zero worked most of the time for me. SF Jello in occasional spoonfuls went down. And powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup went down slowly.

I was just focused on water/propel zero and didn't have much room for much else.

Also, nerves were numb still at that point, so I couldn't really tell when I was full from many liquids. My only advice is follow your plan that your dr or program gives you.

Good luck everyone! Even with my sleeve swollen shut the first day and a half, it was an easier surgery than my hysterectomy.

:-)
