CanMacDaddy 0 Posted March 9, 2007 I will be joing the banded ranks on March 27th... SWLC My family is supportive especially daughters (3&5 yrs olds) Plus as an added bonus I got tickets to Peguins vs Leafs... Crosby better sign my jersey as we are from same home town. If he does I will hang it on the wall as won't be fitting me much longer. Thanks to all for posts as finally made me pony up the $16 k after 2 years of thinking about it. Gaffer 1 Posted March 10, 2007 Don't forget to submit you claim to AB health care. You should get about $1000 back. It is not much but it is enough to a new Flames jersey once you lose the weight :biggrin1: Andrew
canuckswan 0 Posted March 10, 2007 Good for you! What better to invest in than yourself! I'm almost six months post-op with Cobourn, and I've lost 48 lbs! The time goes by quickly whether you are doing something about your weight or not; so you might as well start enjoying them to the fullest. I have lots of years ahead of me to pay off my line of credit for my surgery, but that's okay because I'm finally living.
Doddie63 6 Posted March 11, 2007 congratulations and many years of healthy living for your family especially your children. It will be worth it. Doddie
argon 3 Posted March 11, 2007 Congrats CanMacDaddy! How'd you get such a quick date?
CanMacDaddy 0 Posted March 12, 2007 The clinic just happened to have an opening that coincided with business I had in Toronto. Luck of timing I guess. In consultation with TLBC they were booking for April 2nd so it would have been a fairly quick date as well ie: 1 mth after consult.
argon 3 Posted March 12, 2007 That is lucky... congrats!
Gaffer 1 Posted March 12, 2007 That is really quick. I think that is a better way to go since you have less time to get worked up, plus if you can tie it in with business in TO that is a bonus. Andrew
Doddie63 6 Posted March 12, 2007 I think operations can be scheduled within four weeks. At least that was what I was told when I called and asked how long would I have to wait. I had the consult date just before Christmas and made my decision at the end of the year. Had my date Feb. 01/07. I could have had a date in January, but I was afraid of the TO weather. Seems I got my band before the cold winter blast came. No question the less waiting time the better. Doddie
Gaffer 1 Posted March 12, 2007 I know when I booked with Dr. C, I had to wait about 8 weeks, and they might be booking even longer now because they are getting busier. Andrew
argon 3 Posted March 12, 2007 Same here (8 weeks), and that was a year ago!
Wheezy 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I think I only had to wait 6 weeks, and that was long enough. Congrats on your surgery date. Let us know if you get Crosby's signature. Good luck
