After letting myself slide for the past month and not logging my food intake I have gained weight. I know I'm still preop and still below where I started but I never thought that the logging would be such a valuable tool.

So as of today I'm logging everything I put in my mouth. Hopefully by having this set back now will help me realize that I need to log for me and not anyone else. No one is going to do it for me I have to do yr myself.

Sorry, my rant is over.

Next to the surgery itself, food logs are the single most powerful tool you can have. I've been logging for two years and have no intention of giving it up - ever.

I feel off the food log wagon last month when was sick. I just did not care about logging, and it has been so tough to get back in to it.

I'm just worried that since I'm preop that the insurance company is going to come back and say no due to the fact that I've gained this month. I sure hope not.

Logging is very important and so much easier these days with smart phones and great apps..I remember having to go thru books and write everything down lol

As far as your insurance I guess that depends on their guidelines, my program was 6 months and I was required to lose 10% which was 30lbs I only manage to do 23 but I think they go by the review from the doctor, NUT and Psych which if you get greens from them than they know you have been working the program whether the scale shows it or not....good luck!

I've been logging my food for over two months. In the beginnings of my journey I found food logging boring but because I was so blind and lazy to see what a valuable tool it is.

I have been successful and accountable since I started logging my food. I have no intention to ever giving up on it.

You can do it! Give yourself some credit.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
