Started at 301 lbs and 1 year later I was 115. I'm 5'2 so 115 looks amazing!!! I am SO happy!

I love reading all these posts of fantastic losses. Very inspirational and gives me hope!

My body is not playing ball although Im doing everything as directed. I'm 2.5 weeks out and have lost 4lbs. (I lost 12lbs during my 2 weeks on pre-op diet) and Im beginning to wonder if I should've flagged surgery and just stayed on pre-op diet! Ok' date=' not really ;-)

Congrats to all of you losing amazing amounts. I hope to soon join you. :-)[/quote']

Hang in there your body is being stubborn, figure we didnt get big over night so even with surgery it may take time for things to readjust :)

I did a TON of walking. I never ate anything that had sugar in the ingredients or high fructose corn Syrup. Made a huge difference for me.

Anyone mind sharing their starting weight? I'm starting at 230. I've been told people with lower bmi sometimes lose slower :/ just curious

The day of my surgery (2/11/13) I was 233. Today I am 132!

I started at 245,,,pre-surgery weight was 230 (surgery August, 2012) and now weigh 170 as of July,2013. I'm unable to walk so only get weighed at hospital visits.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
