JackieK1784 0 Posted November 5, 2013 Anybody else having this issue? The more depressed I get about my huge weight gain the more I am drinking to forget. I'm doing this instead of eating. Anyone else going through this? Pretty sure this is contributing to my possible ulcer.
TurnThePage 220 Posted November 5, 2013 Drinking contributes to depression so you are making a bad situation much worse. It is called transfer addiction, trading one addiction (food) for another (alcohol) and adding ulcers to the mix. This has to stop! Please, get professional help now before you cause serious injury to your body! Be kind to yourself--you deserve much better than this. 3 xiomara8868, DLCoggin and oldoneyoungagain reacted to this
deaddemmama 474 Posted November 8, 2013 Cross addiction is a real danger for rny folks, and it sounds like it's really bothering you. I applaud your honesty. Maybe you should seek counseling, hon. Drinking will definitely contribute to depression, which leads to more drinking, etc. are you post op? Besides possible alcoholism, drinking can really be hard on your pouch, and it's full of empty calories. Message me if yiu wish, I'd love to talk. 1 DLCoggin reacted to this

Another possible and very serious problem with drinking (if you are under a year post-op) is liver damage or failure. In the first year when your body is burning the most fat your liver is working overtime to process the toxins released from the fat. Alcohol at this time is VERY dangerous and can seriously damage your liver or cause it to fail. Please seek some help for your need to drink. 1 DLCoggin reacted to this
