Possible to PB often, but feel like you have no restriction?

Recommended Posts

<!--StartFragment -->I had my first fill on Feb. 9th. The doctor put in 2.5cc.

Lately, I've noticed that I get "stuck" quite often in the afternoon when I eat lunch (I eat oatmeal for breakfast). I've even had to pb a few times.

Yet, at dinner I don't seem to have any restriction. For instance, tonight I was able to eat a pretty large salad and too much spaghetti (well-cooked, angel hair with sauce).

I don't know if I should get another fill or not. I'm really concerned about the amount I can eat, yet at the same time I get the stuck feeling more often.

I need advice please.

Same here. Can eat way too much during the day but often very tight at dinner time and I'm concerned another fill will mean I can still eat too much in the day but not eat at all at dinner time, lol. It just never seems to work as neatly as you want it to.

My plan is to just try it and see, if it turns out I"m not eating dinner five nights out of seven, I'll go back and have some removed.

I'm curiously waching the responses you get. I am in the same boat. I can eat 6 fried shrimp.- seems like too many to me. I think in my case the stuck feeling is from eating too fast!! Other areas on the board, people post they are eating 1/2c for some-1cup for others and some 1.5cups. Im not sure there is a 'right' answer. If dinner is served slowly (slow resturant one hour to get all pieces) I can eat my entire salad, all my Protein and most of my veggies. So I can relate to no restriction and certainly getting stuck!!

Hopefully the elder bandsters will come to your aid!!

I've had confusion on this issue as well.:(

But everyone reacts differently so I just go with it.

Some say they are never hungry.... I get hungry every day but not all day, though it's hard to say when it is REAL hunger or psychological hunger.

Most of the time I feel no restriction, but still I PB 3-4-5 times a week. Sometimes I'm eating too fast, or not chewing enough (related issues) and other times I'm baffled as to why. In any case it is almost always the foods I SHOULD be eating that cause the problems: plain (dry) meats, fresh veggies, fruits (with skins), and very soft breads. Nasty things like popcorn, Desserts, mashed potatoes, onion rings, Pasta, etc. go down quick and easy!!:phanvan The amounts I consume are usually less than before... but still well above my diet plan so willpower has to be employed ~~~ something I've never been known for :D hahaha

But this is life I guess.... all I went through to get the band done will NOT be for nothing if I can help it, so I stick with the program and just try to slide past my weaknesses.

Reading comments like these always keep me encouraged ... so I know it isn't just ME!!

Thanx to all of you.:clap2:

I am glad that someone else used the word; "confusing"! I too can easily it soft, bad foods, while the better foods that I have to chew and chew do not always agree with me. I chew until it tastes too yucky to swallow, then if no one is around, I spit it out!

I need the bad for you foods to be too chewy to eat!

It's confusing for sure. Most mornings I can only drink a Protein shake, and today I had eggs and ham! Half the time I can't eat at lunch, and half the time I can. Often I am restricted just right at dinner, but sometimes I can eat a horse. Sometimes I want to binge so I chew big bites and spit. Sometimes eating solid food seems to be too difficult, unless it has sliders (gravy, etc.), which I don't consider healthy.

What I DO know that is perfectly consistent for me, is that I do very well at all times of day if I face food, take several deep slow breaths, turn off any distractions, slow myself down, sit up very straight, and then eat. If I am in a trance and eating mindfully or prayfully, all goes well. Heck, I was in a trance OVEReating all day before I was banded, so it isn't really a big stretch. It's just revising the trance. It's just taking the time. It's making it an internal peaceful process about me first and food second.

Hmm, I seem to have the opposite problem I am tight all day until dinner time since my last fill. I can't even drink anything until after I have been up for about two hours. I can have something like Soup for lunch. Then, by dinner time I am finally open and able to eat. This band we have is definitely a finicky tool.

Ogre, you said you are able to eat soft bread? That is amazing to me! Most bandsters, including myself, have a very tough time with bread of any kind. I would love to be able to eat bread and am so jealous of you! :)

I thought I would miss bread terribly, but I really don't. I just don't like the pain that comes with it.

Now if only chocolate and other crap foods left me with that pain!!!

And thanks all to have replied. I'm leaning towards another fill, but like I said, I'm going to take the next two weeks to eat slow, eat well, and see if it makes a difference.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
