Been out of my celexa since Monday and the mental breakdown craving for chocolate finally happened. Where I would normally be bingeing right now I'm just left feeling broken and empty because I literally can't and won't. It's making it worse because my mom is just yelling at me to stop crying when all I need is support.

Aw I'm so sorry ...you need support and not to be yelled at...why are you out of your meds? That's never a good thing... You need them now more than ever... I think I did so much crying the first couple of months from everything I felt like I was missing. It does get better

((Hugs))... I've been in that exact position. People that don't have a chemical imbalance just don't get it. Combine that with the mental problems weight loss surgery causes and you have a recipe for disaster. Just try and keep your chin up! I know this sounds like the LAST thing you want to do, but exercise actually helps to even out the chemical signals in our brain ACTUALLY making us happier. It also releases endorphins (which make you happier). It also helps curb cravings (which get rid of a stressor). And lastly, it helps you shed more pounds (which makes all of us REALLY happy! Haha)... Go for a walk with some good tunes playing! Turn up the jams and dance around your bedroom! Guaranteed even if you feel like crap, one glimpse of yourself acting like a boob in the mirror will bring a smile! Lol good luck girl! Feel free to PM me if you just need to vent! Sometimes we all need someone who is just willing to listen to our problems. :)

Thank you guys! I was just out of them because the I had no refills and the pharmacy is being ridiculous about getting ahold of my doctor to see if I can get them or if I have to schedule an appointment. I will try to take your advice and be more active even though all I wanna do is cry! lol

Call you doctors office in the morning and tell them you are having a problem getting this refilled--and that without your med you are crashing badly. Don't just rely on the pharmacy--be proactive and help them help you. More than support, you need to get your meds.

You can't go cold turkey on this stuff without crashing hard. It's crucial to plan ahead better in the future so you don't run out again. Normally you can pick up a refill about a week before you're out of meds. Check with the pharmacy and plan to pick them up at least several days before you're out.

Take good care of yourself!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
