TurnThePage 220 Posted October 25, 2013 Depending on who you talked to, try faxing a brief letter to your surgeon and a copy to his office manager outlining your dilemma and asking for their help. Regular staffers don't have the authority to do anything about the surgical schedule, but the surgeon and his manager both have a strong financial incentive to squeeze you into the schedule. You have to stay on top of this and be your own best advocate. Be polite but firm!
Sara 401 8 Posted October 27, 2013 I know but the woman I spoke to is her right hand man so to speak. Im trying to be polite. But its hard
TurnThePage 220 Posted October 27, 2013 Sometimes the 'right hand' is passive and you need to be aggressive to get your surgery date before you lose your insurance coverage. Try that letter to the surgeon with a copy to the office manager. The surgeon has the discretion to change the surgery schedule, but you need to make him aware of the problem and the urgency of your situation. Good luck--will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!
