Juice (Apple, Grape, etc.)

Recommended Posts

Have been unable to find a juice that doesn't have a ton of sugar in it. I have tried Cran-Grape and it is good, but I wanted to see if anyone else was able to find a juice that was acceptable??

I believe that in order to keep this RNY successful you need to keep things changing so that you don't burn out and revert to old habits and bad choices. Thanks.

juice is pretty much sugar and water....you can get light formulations that aren't as bad (I've done apple and orange) but still they have a fair amount of sugar. I'll take 2-3 swallows of my sons occasionally but I have dumping issues with simple carbs and juice gets me fast.

I don't have issues with sugar and juice...but right after surgery my nut made me mix it half and half with Water. If you put 1/2 water and apple juice and a bit of grape flavor enhancer....it tastes like grape juice. I know...I got way carried away with juice at first.

There are diet versions of Ocean Spray. I think they have 5 calories/cup. I like the cran-cherry.

Sugar doesn't effect me much. I still drink orange juice, though instead of a big glass I'll just drink a small amount. For the most part I try to stay away from juice.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
