RNY ON APPLE SHAPED.....

Recommended Posts

Hello! I would like to hear from anyone that is or know someone else that is/had an apple shaped body. I am in the process of band removal to RNY. I have an apple shaped body meaning that my arms and legs are already thin but my upper body (torso) is very rounded. It is there on the upper body in which I carry my weight. I know I would probably need plastics on the lower abdominal, but can anyone else relate to what I'm saying? will things fall into place?

That is the question.. I would like to know also. I look through youtube videos for someone that looks like me all the time. I don't want to lose nothing on the bottom at all. I have a short torso and look bulky on the top portion. Good luck and let me know if you figure this one out.

I'm apple shaped. I've had four children and at five months post op, I still carry most of my weight in my tummy area. My arms, too, actually. I will absolutely need a Tummy Tuck or at least panni in the future.

Hello im new here and will be having a gastric band revision on October 29th. I am currently on day 3 of my 2 week pre OP diet. I'm wondering how long your revision surgeries took and how long were you in the Hospital afterwards? Also what was the pain like post OP? Thank you

Well, I was told if you have a large gall bladder scar, then you can not have a full TT. So I know that I'll need a panni and upper arms done. I'm in my late fifties so I need it done like yesterday... LOL. But I am an active person and still want the body that I haven't had since I was fifteen.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
