I hope everyone is doing well. I broke my android tablet so I have not been on here in a while.

Things have been going well for me. I am down a total 85lbs since starting my pre-op diet in July. I have not had any dumping which I attribute to Soccermom's advice of making sure you have protien in your stomach if you are going to treat yourself. For example I had a 30gram protien shake yesterday and about 10 minutes after drinking it I treated myself to half an Oreo.

This by far has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! I will try to get on here more with my work computer and my wifes home computer because I would like to hear how everyone else is doing.

Hi pittguy! Glad to hear you are doing so well. I am 68 pounds down since the start of this journey and am feeling really good. I have ankle/knee issues which make exercise difficult. I too follow Soccermom's advice and have not had any problems with my pouch.

I am sure it is a matter of time until I am eating a whole one.... I am still in the stage where I have no hunger and no cravings. I am hoping if I treat myself in moderation I will not get back into a pattern of downing 5 Oreos with Milk when I get cravings back.

Mitzie, congrats on the 68p pounds. That is great! Ankle and knee problems are no fun and can make the journey tough at times but it is great to hear you are still having great success.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
