To all my pregnant mommas...do you feel like you can eat more on certain days? This is nothing compared to what I used to eat preop but today since 9am (it's now 4:30pm) I've had 1/2 lenders bagel w/cream cheese, a turkey sandwich on 1/2 roll w/lettuce & Tomato, cup of veggie Soup and some chips. Bagel for bkfast @9 nd the rest was a hospital lunch at 12pm (took me 2hrs to eat lunch) I have not had anything to drink since lunch at 12-2 besides the soup and I feel like I'm starving just 2 1/2 hrs after finishing lunch :-(

OAN...I had an Iron infusion today so maybe that's why the increases appetite. Idk but now I'm itching for my hubby to get home with my salad. I feel so hungry.

I agree. Im just glad the scale isn't moving much. Ive lost 13 pounds since I found out I am pregnant and have gained 2-3 back in the last couple weeks. Im ok with that. Im 15 weeks. Now just want to find out what I'm having and feel him or her move.

I'm not pregant, but I plan on getting pregnant as soon as I'm allowed to... and have been talking with my DR about it alot. She says that just like pre-op, pregnancy can cause many extra hormones that cause you to want to eat and feel more hungry than normal. You need to make sure that you are controlling yourself, and only eating what your body NEEDS, not just whenever it WANTS. :) I know its easier said than done, but it's important to remember :)

My surgeon, OB and nut are all on the same page. I have a plan in place by all 3 and know what I can and can't have. I've also been told if I'm craving something to go ahead but not to over do it. Which I don't cause I will get sick. I've been told to gain weight (25-35lbs). I am eating healthy and doing exactly what I've been told. Thanks anyway.

You're absolutely right. And it is easier said than done. Good luck in the future!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
