Amanda R 56 Posted October 8, 2013 I had my surgery 3 weeks ago, and still have mine? What is the norm for them to either fall or take them out?
melhealthy 103 Posted October 8, 2013 I didn't have any stitches. I had a drain that I had taken out after 1 week. What type of stitches do you have?

melhealthy 103 Posted October 8, 2013 Oh ok. My doctor just had them covered with a liquid bandaid and when the bandaid washed off I was done. They closed on there on.
PLEASEDELETEME 44 Posted October 8, 2013 I have staples (24 of them) and they are getting taken out Wed., 8 days after surgery.
PLEASEDELETEME 44 Posted October 8, 2013 i have never had staples (or surgery for that matter) before. I have been told they don't hurt to take out, but I am not sure if I believe that.
Amanda R 56 Posted October 8, 2013 usually they don't. Just remember to breathe and focus on something else.
PLEASEDELETEME 44 Posted October 8, 2013 usually they don't. Just remember to breathe and focus on something else. I will remember to take my pain meds before I go. one pill is nice, 2 pills and they could use an office staple remover and I wouldn't care. 2 ElleG and Amanda R reacted to this
ArmyOfMe 82 Posted October 8, 2013 Mine peeled off on their own close two weeks. I did not temper with my incision sites in any way. I just made sure to keep the areas clean daily. I had enough surgical wash leftover which helped keeping the incisions infection free.
nursejb 38 Posted October 8, 2013 they took my staples out prior to discharge home
oldoneyoungagain 200 Posted October 8, 2013 I'm drain came out the day I went home, staples were removed on day eight. Also had a couple of stitches where the drain was. No pain, but I have a high tolerance when it comes to something like this. What drove me mad was the itching from the healing. Nothing to be afraid of. Just close your eyes if it scares you.
