1 week post-op recipe

Recommended Posts

:hungry: I just started adding creamy Soups and stuff to my diet but anyway I just made something good and simple. I made a cup of chicken broth and added instant mashed potatoes keeping it still thin enough and added alittle olive oil margerine. The broth was the softer cubes that knorr's makes.

Sounds good, just stay on the schedule of what your doc. gives you, and when able or time move on to solids. I stumbled in the first two months post op by relying on Soups and mushies because they went down easy.

During that time I had a two month stall where I did not lose anything.

I got back on track though.

2 years post op

210 pounds lost

totaly at goal

Life is good!

Jackal, Thanks for the reply, it's so true everything we do this 1st month post-op is the opposite of trying to fill that pouch to stay full for a few hours. I know even when I down a cup of Soup I'm thinking ok that was maybe too much and then I realize no that this phase I need to do this:confused: Anyhow, keep the advice coming. You have done a GREAT job at working your band. Congratulations! Sunnysea:)

I was told the first 6-8 weeks are for healing, not losing weight. I was on a higher fat/carb diet because things like mashed potatos were simple to eat and were really soft. ~Mandy

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
