Good and bad moment today

Recommended Posts

Let's start with the good... I can eat puréed foods. tuna never tasted so good. I'm doing flips here.. Not really in my mind. Haha. Now I need to learn how to separate food and Water better.

Bad. I only lost 10 ibs in 2 weeks!! I was expecting more so my scale lies to me. I'm putting it away and focusing on me now and let the docs weigh me in a month and be shocked :)

Thanks.. It's just frustrating that's all. I'm not discouraged though. I hid my scale and stopped weighing myself. I can see a difference in the mirror so that's all I need.

I only lost 10.. now in stall.. it'll happen, too early to get frustrated. Now if I go a whole month without losing I'll probably lose my mind. But a week or two at this early stage is normal

When I started my journey, I printed a post from LilMissDiva, posted on August 19th, 2011. Title is "WLS Do's and Don'ts".

Everyone should at least read this post.I have a copy by my computer, and look at it frequently. Especially good reading for those just statring out on your journey.

Good luck, wish everyone the best.

Everyone always expects to see a huge weight loss number at first which isn't realistic. We didn't gain wight overnight and won't loose it that way either. You are losing 5lbs a week which is great. Stick to the program, stay encouraged and you'll see results. Good luck on your journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
